Not too long ago, I picked up my first-ever pair of Golden Goose sneakers (which I originally featured in this post), and got tons of questions from you guys ever since. So many that I figured I’d dive in and give you a detailed review! I’ve also worn them enough now that I understand how they really perform, and a bunch of related details about them, which you’ll see broken down further.

How is the fit?
They’re true to size in my experience, at least for me.
Since they don’t stretch and they don’t come in half sizes, I’d recommend sizing up.
How comfy are they?
They required minimal break-in time..
How durable are they?
Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about getting them dirty. I’ve worn them all over the city, and I’m impressed with the durability. The laces are intact, and the structure feels strong. Thanks to the vintage look, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
How do they compare to other sneakers?
Nothing else compares in comfort or quality. I love my Vejas and Tretorns, but Golden Goose wins in both comfort and quality. There’s a secret wedge inside that adds just over an inch — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re crafted individually, so each pair is custom-feeling. And the shine on mine? Absolutely gorgeous.
Would you recommend them?
Totally! Though I suggest looking for a deal. They’re not cheap, so getting them discounted is a better idea. I’d pay several hundred for the quality, especially if you find a style that suits you. I chose a loud pair, but a minimalist version would also look great.

They felt good almost immediately. I recommend wearing no-shows, especially since my feet get sweaty. They’re made with real Italian leather, so it’s much more easy than breaking in plastic-based shoes. Plus, they’re already broken-in so your feet just adjust easily.
Do they hold up well?
Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they still look great. No glitter has fallen off, and the leather hasn’t stretched.
Because they already look worn, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.
